I opted for Arch cause I love not having to worry about upgrading my system every 6-12 months to another major release, I think pacman and the package library on Arch is amazing, if I ever am missing tiny bits from the official library it is trivial for me to just grab a package from the very comprehensive AUR. Opening moves I was given a menu, I learned a tiny bit of it, then I simply threw away the menu and reached for the mouse. I do feel I am pretty typical though of a developer using Windows or Mac. My old Windows 10 based setup involved doing all my console work in an Ubuntu VM running i3. Still yet a general thumbs-up rule, don’t use too many workspaces, suffice to say open only the windows you are currently intending to work on otherwise you might get lost (like I did!) and yammer “where was?” 2-3 workspace is sufficient enough.I have been a long time i3 window manager user. Select the window and press Mod+shift+2 and your window disappears to the workspace number you inputted (in our case 2). Now, what if you wanted to switch a window to another workspace? I got you covered. Switching a window to different workspace Well, there ain’t visual effect but you’ll notice that number “1” at the bottom left has changed to 2.

Press Mod+2 and you’ll see it has switched to workspace 2. Linux is so notorious for multiple workspaces and yes you still get to switch to multiple workspaces (upto 9) in i3wm too! Here’s how.
